Case studies will be used to demonstrate many of the assays and concepts. Discussions will include frequently ordered hemostasis assays, laboratory evaluation for lupus anticoagulants, and much more. You will leave with the ability to: Identify hemostasis assays that should be performed in patients with a bleeding diathesis but normal APTT and PT assays and interpret the results. You will learn about identifying commonly misordered tests, tests that are affected by the draw times, the ways in which pharmacogenetics can optimize dosing and identify poor metabolizers, and ways to improve laboratory reports.
