Ames Testing
The CRBM-MBRC Research Center in Rimouski, Quebec Canada, features a fully equipped laboratory for performing an optimal Ames II™ Mutagenicity Assay and AMES MPF98/100™ Mutagenicity Assay and reporting work for customers. Chemicals will be accepted to perform the required assays, interpret data, and produce detailed reports. The staff is fully trained in all aspects of the Mutagenicity Assay, providing a very efficient and cost-effective process. Depending upon answers to a client's questionnaire, detailed reports are likely to be completed within 15 days.

The staff understands all aspects of the Ames II™ and MPF98/100™ Mutagenicity Assays performance, using the most appropriate equipment for each step. As a result, you can expect the most out of each assay performed. The staff is also trained to troubleshoot all aspects of the Ames II™ and MPF98/100™ Mutagenicity Assays, and can advise you on the assay modifications most likely to yield the best data for a given set of chemicals.
- Each test compound is tested in six concentrations, in triplicate.
- Positive and negative control drugs are run per microplate.
- S9 metabolic fraction is tested with, and without, each test compound.

Cytoxicity Testing
The CRBM-MBRC facility also features a fully equipped laboratory for performing Cytoxicity testing using the in vitro methods developed by Xenometrix. The test kits are utilized to determine protein synthesis, membrane permeability, and respiratory or lysosomial activity.
