Ames Mutagenicity Testing

Xenometrix has at its Allschwil facility a fully equipped laboratory for performing Ames MPF and Ames II Mutagenicity Assays for customers. Chemicals will be accepted to perform the required assays, interpret data and produce detailed reports. The staff is fully trained in all aspects of the liquid Ames microplate assays, making for a very efficient and cost-effective process. Depending upon answers to a client's questionnaire, detailed reports are likely to be completed within 7 days. However, data can be communicated immediately upon assay completion (3 days).

The staff understands all aspects of the Ames MPF and Ames II Mutagenicity Assay performance, using the most appropriate equipment for each step. As such, you can expect the most out of each assay performed. The staff is trained to troubleshoot all aspects of the liquid Ames microplate assays, and can advise you on assay modifications which are likely to yield the best data for a given set of chemicals.

Cytoxicity Testing

Xenometrix offers to test chemicals for cytotoxic effects using any assay and assay combination sold as test kits. We offer to use our own cell lines or can accommodate your own cells. Our staff is highly experienced in all aspects of cell culture and has a thorough knowledge of the individual assays. We offer discussion of your testing needs and can advice you on the assay(s) and assay conditions based on our experience. With cells in culture at our facility assay data can be communicated as early as two days after test compound receipt at our laboratory (prior delivery notice and discussion of test conditions required); detailed reports usually take 1 week. More time is needed when frozen cell lines have to be used or with customer-supplied cells as they have to grow optimally before testing is started.

Xenometrix Client Research Laboratory Offers Testing for Endocrine Disruptor Activity in Chemicals, Agrochemicals, Biocides, Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetic Products, Food Additives, Veterinary Products, or Soil Samples.

Xenometrix offers its services as a Client Research Laboratory and is ideally positioned to perform the YES and YAS assays with your samples.

They can test solid samples or concentrated water samples for endocrine disruptor activity (estrogenic or androgenic activity) in the microplate format using the yeast YES or YAS assays.

They also can analyze any samples e.g. fresh or waste water for mutagenic activity using the Ames MPF 98/100 Aqua or UmuC Easy AQ. Cytotoxicity tests can be performed with concentrated and aqueous samples
