BIOPHEN™ Protein C LRT is a liquid, ready-to-use chromogenic assay for Protein C (PC) activity in citrated plasma. Principle: ProtacŽ (purified PC activator from Agkistrodon contortrix venom) activates patient PC ? activated PC (APC) cleaves chromogenic substrate proportional to PC activity. For thrombophilia screening (PC deficiency: 3-5x increased VTE risk), warfarin initiation monitoring (PC is vitamin K-dependent — drops first, causing transient hypercoagulable state), and DIC assessment. Calibrate with Plasma Calibrator (222101). CE-IVD.
