Factor IX (FIX) deficient plasma from 5-Diagnostics for use as the assay substrate in one-stage modified APTT-based clotting assays measuring Factor IX coagulant activity.
The one-stage FIX clotting assay requires a FIX-deficient plasma substrate in which all coagulation factors are present at normal concentrations except Factor IX — clot formation in the assay system is then entirely dependent on the FIX activity contributed by the test sample, reference standard, or calibrator.
5-Diagnostics FIX-deficient plasma is produced by specific immunodepletion of Factor IX from large-pool human citrated plasma, with residual FIX activity confirmed below 1% of normal using a validated one-stage reference method.
The lyophilized plasma is reconstituted with purified water and used directly as the substrate in APTT-based FIX activity assays on manual, semi-automated, and fully automated coagulation analyzers.
Factor IX deficient plasma is the critical substrate for FIX clotting assay systems used in research and assay development for hemophilia B coagulation factor replacement products.
Lot-specific certificates of analysis include residual FIX activity (IU/dL), total protein concentration, and reagent compatibility verification. For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
