Factor VIII:C (FVIII:C) deficient plasma from 5-Diagnostics for use as the assay substrate in one-stage modified APTT-based clotting assays measuring Factor VIII coagulant activity. Factor VIII:C is the procoagulant component of the Factor VIII/von Willebrand factor complex and is the deficient factor in hemophilia A — the most common severe inherited coagulation disorder.
5-Diagnostics FVIII:C deficient plasma is produced by specific immunodepletion of FVIII from large-pool human citrated plasma, with residual FVIII:C activity confirmed below 1% of normal to ensure substrate specificity in the one-stage assay system. The substrate plasma is suitable for one-stage FVIII clotting assays using APTT reagents across manual, semi-automated, and fully automated coagulation analyzers including Stago, Instrumentation Laboratory, and Sysmex platforms.
This deficient plasma is used as a reference substrate for research into FVIII replacement therapy pharmacokinetics, FVIII inhibitor Bethesda assay development, and extended half-life FVIII product characterization in hemophilia A research.
Lyophilized format provides long-term stability and lot-to-lot consistency for multi-year research programs. For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
