Complete Ames bacterial reverse mutation test kits from Xenometrix in three validated formats for OECD Test Guideline 471 and ICH S2(R1) mutagenicity screening — from high-throughput miniaturized microplate assays to traditional plate incorporation formats for definitive GLP regulatory studies.
Ames MPF (Microfluctuation Plate Format) is a 384-well miniaturized liquid-suspension Ames test requiring only 1-2% of the compound quantity needed for traditional plate assays — the preferred format for pharmaceutical drug discovery screening where compound availability is limited.
Ames II is a 48-well microplate fluctuation format using TA98 and TA100 tester strains — simpler than Ames MPF while retaining the compound efficiency advantages of the miniaturized approach.
MacroAmes1 uses the classical Salmonella typhimurium plate incorporation and preincubation method per OECD TG 471 — the reference format for definitive GLP regulatory studies and for testing compounds where the liquid format is less suitable due to poor solubility or volatility.
