TAMix is a mixture of six engineered Salmonella typhimurium strains (TA7001–TA7006), each detecting one specific type of base-pair substitution. Together, TAMix detects all six possible base-pair substitution changes:

  • A:T→T:A (TA7001)
  • A:T→C:G (TA7002)
  • A:T→G:C (TA7003)
  • G:C→T:A (TA7004)
  • G:C→C:G (TA7005)
  • G:C→A:T (TA7006)

TAMix is used as the base-pair substitution component of the Ames II assay, complementary to TA98 (frameshift detection). This unique capability — individual detection of all six base-pair substitution types — is not achievable with standard tester strains. Listed in OECD TG 471 and ICH M7. Liquid format. 50 µL. Store at −70°C.
