YG1042 is a TA100 derivative engineered to overexpress nitroreductase (nfsI) and O-acetyltransferase (oat) enzymes. Provides enhanced mutagenic sensitivity to nitroarenes and aromatic/heterocyclic amines via base-pair substitution mutations — complementary to YG1041 (TA98-based, frameshift).

• Nitroarenes — activated by overexpressed nitroreductase
• Aromatic and heterocyclic amines — activated by overexpressed O-acetyltransferase
• Detects via base-pair substitution (extending the mutation spectrum beyond YG1041 frameshift detection)

Used alongside YG7108 (isogenic enzyme-deleted control) for mechanistic pathway confirmation. For environmental carcinogen and food safety research. OECD TG 471 compatible.
