ELISA for immunological Fibrinogen antigen quantification in human plasma. 96-test microplate format. Research use only.

This immunological fibrinogen ELISA measures total fibrinogen antigen regardless of its functional clottability. When used alongside functional fibrinogen assays (von Clauss), a discordance between high immunological and low functional fibrinogen is indicative of dysfibrinogenaemia — structurally abnormal fibrinogen molecules that polymerize poorly. This assay is used in research characterizing fibrinogen abnormalities.
