Recombinant hirudin — the most specific direct thrombin inhibitor (DTI), distributed by Aniara Diagnostica from HYPHEN BioMed.
This defined European recombinant hirudin, standardized in Anti-Thrombin Units (ATU), binds thrombin 1:1 independently of antithrombin or any cofactor — unlike heparin — for clean thrombin inhibition in research, assay development, bioprocessing, and hirudin-anticoagulated platelet testing. Hirudin anti-IIa activity can be measured with BIOPHEN™ DTI and HEMOCLOT™ assays.
