Convulxin, a C-type lectin-like protein from Crotalus durissus terrificus venom. Potent and selective GPVI agonist for platelet activation studies.

For in vitro research use only in platelet function and glycoprotein VI research.

Product Characteristics

  • Convulxin: Reconstitute the vial of Convulxin with HEPES buffered saline (pH 6.5) and dilute to the desired concentration (0,1 μg/mL) with the same buffer.
  • Storage after reconstitution: Room temperature 8 hours +2 to +8°C 2 days.
  • The reconstituted product can be frozen immediately and stored at -80°C for 1 month. Avoid refreezing.
  • Collagen: Aggregation with collagen at 0.5 µg/ml is used as a positive control.

Product Applications

It can be used for studies of platelet receptors by light transmission aggregometry (LTA). Prostaglandins are known as strong inhibitors of convulxin-induced platelet aggregation.
