ELISA for von Willebrand factor collagen binding activity (vWF:CBA) in human plasma. CE-IVD.

vWF:CBA measures functional vWF ability to bind collagen — high-molecular-weight multimers are required for collagen binding. A vWF:CBA/vWF:Ag ratio below 0.7 is diagnostic of a qualitative vWF defect, particularly Type 2A and 2B vWD where large multimers are absent.

Essential for Type 2 vWD diagnosis — identifies defects missed by vWF:Ag alone
