September 2018: Coagulation and Cannabis

The nonpsychoactive component of cannabidol (CBD) has been used in the treatment of chronic pain management, anxiety, depression, epilepsy, muscle spasms and Crohn’s disease. It is also used in neurological disorders such as Huntington’s and Parkinson’s and may be helpful in autoimmune disorders. It has also been suggested as use in hemophilia for joint pain since some pain medication may interfere with clotting. But does it impact the coagulation system – of course there are different opinions and theories, but it is a field that requires exploration.
