This C-type lectin purified from Crotalus durissus terrificus venom activates platelets by clustering the collagen receptor GPVI, making it the reference agonist for platelet-signaling research, light-transmission aggregometry, flow cytometry, and screening of GPVI-directed antiplatelet drugs.
