Biophen Heparin (AT+) is a kinetics chromogenic assay for measuring the concentration of heparin and heparin-like anticoagulants, in human citrated plasma or in any other biological fluid, using automatic or manual anti-Xa method, with addition of Antithrombin lll (AT). Addition of exogenous AT allows measuring high concentrations of heparin, without lacking of endogenous AT, in vitro exclusively. This assay is especialy useful in pediatric patients, in intensive care units (low AT levels), or for measuring Fondaparinux (Arixtra), which induces a higher "AT Turnover" compared to UFH or LMWH.
