Xenometrix provides pre-formulated culture media, buffer salts, and nutritional supplements for Ames mutagenicity assays and umuC SOS genotoxicity assays, eliminating the need for in-house formulation of complex media components. Vogel-Bonner Minimal E Salts are supplied as concentrated solution for preparation of minimal glucose agar plates used in MacroAmes1 plate incorporation assays.
Top agar (molten agar with trace histidine and biotin) is supplied as ready-to-use tubes for the MacroAmes1 overlay step.
Glucose solution (40%, sterile, pyrogen-free) for minimal agar plate preparation. Histidine/biotin supplement (0.5 mM histidine, 0.5 mM biotin) for trace histidine supplementation in Ames assays allowing limited bacterial growth before reversion is scored. LB (Lysogeny Broth) medium is supplied for overnight tester strain culture for both Ames MPF and umuC assays.
Ampicillin sodium salt (200 mg/mL) for maintaining pKM101 plasmid in TA98, TA100 strains --- available separately in the Ampicillin sub-category. DMSO (genotoxicity-tested, maximum 5% in assay) as validated assay solvent. All media and supplement components are pre-formulated to OECD TG 471 and ISO 13829 specifications with certificates of analysis confirming composition and sterility.
